On June 4, 2013, Future BIble Heroes will release a new album, Partygoing, their third LP, through Merge Records. It is the band's first release since 2002. Future Bible Heroes consists of Stephin Merritt, Christopher Ewen, and Claudia Gonson. Merritt and Ewen are the songwriters, with Stephin writing the melodies and lyrics, and Christopher handling most of the instrumentation. Claudia and Stephin divide the vocals between them.

Their first two albums, Memories of Love (1997) and Eternal Youth (2002), will additionally be released together with Partygoing in a 4-CD set, along with a additional disc of 14 non-LP tracks. This bonus CD includes the material from their 3 EP's, plus various compilation tracks. The collection will also be available on vinyl as a 3-LP set, along with a download card providing the 14 extra tracks, as well as digital versions of the three LP's.

Stephin also has two events at Manhattan's City Winery. The first, on September 21st, is a screening and discussion of the 1968 Japanese film The Black Lizard, with a Q + A lead by Robert Milazzo, Founder of the Modern School of Film.

The following month, on October 19th, Stephin will perform during John Wesley Harding's Cabinet of Wonders, also at the City Winery. The event also features Aaron Neville, Eugene Mirman, Nick Hornby, the Citizens Band, and Emma Straub.
