Stephin at Bumbershoot: 826 Seattle Benefit, Sept 1

Stephin Merritt will perform at People Talking & Singing, a benefit for 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center for youths. The event will take place at Marion Oliver McCaw Hall on Friday, September 1. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the show begins promptly at 8:00 PM. Reserved tickets, at $30, can be purchased by phone through (206) 628-0888, or at Ticketmaster locations. (Note that this event is a separate paid ticket from the Bumbershoot Festival.) Stephin will play a solo set as part of an evening of readers and performers, including Dave Eggers, Daniel Handler, and Sarah Vowell.
