"I Thought You Were My Boyfriend" Single Remix
On June 29, 2004, Nonesuch Records released a 3-song CD and vinyl remix record of the Magnetic Fields' song "I Thought You Were My Boyfriend." The song appears originally on the band's Nonesuch album "i," and was remixed by New York City-based house producer and Wave Music recording artist Rob Rives (aka Floppy Sounds). Rives is the former engineer for influential dance music pioneers Francois K. and Danny Tenaglia. Internationally renowned for his experimental minimal and atmospheric soundscapes, his production credits include remixes for an array of artists including Kraftwerk, Underworld, X-press-2, Yoko Ono, and Can. Rives was previously commissioned to remix "The World Is A Disco Ball," a track from Stephin Merritt side project Future Bible Heroes (Instinct Records).
