February 25, 2003 > Soundtrack Music for Film "Pieces of April"Several Magnetic Fields and 6ths songs, plus a new Stephin Merritt song and incidental music will be appearing in the Peter Hedges film "Pieces of April."
The film is the directorial debut of Hedges, a well established screenwriter whose credits include "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and "About a Boy." "Pieces of April" stars Katie Holmes and Patricia Clarkson. At Sundance Festival, it was recently picked up for distribution by United Artists. This is not Stephin Merritt's first original scoring work; in 2002, Merritt composed an original score for the independent film "Eban and Charley" by Jim Bolton. The film soundtrack to "Eban and Charley" is currently available through Merge Records.
